Oedo-Koh
The Oedo Koh series was created by master incense artisans in Tokyo to express the fragrant atmosphere of old Edo (the old name of Tokyo). Edo culture was both playful and stylish. Stylistically is was a marriage of the elegant and refined, with the common and course. Socially, the four seasons were emphasised, family, friends and neighbours were treasured, and living lives filled with vitality was encouraged.
The main features of the series are:
• High-quality, complex blends that are handcrafted and traditional.
• Quality packaging – paulownia wood box inside uniquely designed and luxurious Japanese card featuring Japanese Ukiyo-e artwork.
• Every box ships with an incense stick holder made of tin, which can be washed and kept. Tin is a metal favoured by the upper classes during the Edo period.
